NFSC is proud to announce our 2018-19 Board of Directors, as elected at the June meeting.
Barb Wood, President
The Nashville Figure Skating club is a long standing institution in Nashville and Barb is proud to be the current President of our club. Barb has a 14 year old son, Hayden, who is a competitive figure skater and she spends many hours on the road to support his goals. As well as President responsibilities, Barb also serves as the Competition Chair for Skate Nashville, our annual skating competition. Gretchen Fan, Treasurer
Gretchen has been an involved skating mother for 10 years when my daughter, Ching Ching, started figure skating at 5-years old. It has been a wonderful journey watching the club grow and watching our children progress from Learn to Skate to elite level skaters. It has also been a wonderful experience for Gretchen, learning how to become a strong figure skating parent, supporting her child and working with many coaches. Gretchen has enjoyed learning from her own skater, other parents, and board members. She was an active volunteer at Nashville Figure Skating Club before becoming a board member in July 2016. She shares, “It is my honor to serve on the board. I will keep learning, serving and do my best to support the club.”
Andrea Wilkinson, Junior Club Sponsor
Andrea was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee where she started skating at the age of 6. As her love for the sport grew, she started competing and continued to compete for the Nashville Figure Skating Club for over 15 years. Andrea competed through college and earned three National Collegiate medals, including being the 2006 National Collegiate Junior Ladies Gold medalist. She graduated from Ashford University with a degree in Organizational Management. In 2003, while still training and competing, Andrea began coaching with the NFSC. Then, after putting her competitive career to rest, she transitioned into coaching full time and has been coaching with the club since. She has served on the Board of Directors since 2007 and has served as a delegate multiple times at the USFS Governing Council. Andrea has been a member of the Nashville Figure Skating Club for over 20 years.
