Once a skater has reached Basic 5 Skills or Higher, Nashville Skating Academy (NSA) offers an array of classes to highlight skills and performance as a skater and athlete.

Ballet is an important part of developing an elite skater. NSA is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough, eight-level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.
The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.
Primary through Level 5 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Thom Yzaguirre.

Taught by a Certified Personal Trainer at Centennial Sportsplex’s state of the art work out center (located across the street from the rink), this one hour class will develop the athlete’s core strength and agility.
Curry “Ice Class” was developed by 1976 Olympic Figure Skating Champion, John Curry, pictured above. The focus is on attention to the details: deep, clean edges that are well-defined, flow and grace of movement, and ease of turns.
Off Ice Jumps
Practicing and mastering jumps off-ice helps the skater prep and perfect jumps on ice. This class will develop the athlete’s fine motor skills, gain height and precision while building muscle memory.
Going back to the early days of figure skating and focusing on technique, sets NFSC apart as embracing the history and beauty of the elements of figure skating.
This class is based on the school figures that were once a part of our competitive structure. Skater will learn turns and edges on circles in order to perfect them for there own skating skills as well as Moves in the Field performance.
Focus on Spin techniques perfected by some of the Spin legends such as Janet Champion and Gus Lussi. This class will concentrate of improving your center, speed, variation, and change of edge.
Join us for this Off Ice Class where stretching exercises will improve flexibility and freedom of movement as well as reduce the chance of injury during skating or other sports. This class is taught by a Certified Gymnastics Teacher.
Stroking instruction focuses on proper technique, anaerobic capacity development, coordination, and power. A high energy and challenging hour, this class employs a series of drills and endurance training with today’s play list at top volume on the speakers. Encouraged for all figure skaters at Basic 6 level and above.
